ZOTOB.D worm is in the wild infecting only Windows 2000 computers so far! Update is available right now.

CNN just announced that a new variant of an older worm has been infecting millions of computers today.
The good news (if you can call it that) is that it appears to only infect Windows 2000 users. However it's a good idea to get all Microsoft updates that are available for your Windows computer regardless of the edition.
Microsoft has just released a patch to fix this security hole here: Microsoft Security Bulletin MS05-039 (The Microsoft site also has patches for Windows XP at the link above, however no XP computers have been affected as of yet.
Trend Micro's Description of this worm on their website: TrendLabs has received several reports regarding this new ZOTOB worm that is currently spreading in the wild.
Similar to earlier ZOTOB variants, this worm takes advantage of the Microsoft Windows Plug and Play vulnerability to propagate across networks. For more information regarding this vulnerability, refer to the following Microsoft Web page. It may also have backdoor capabilities, and may execute commands coming from a remote malicious user. TrendLabs is working to provide a more in depth analysis of this malware. Details will be posted shortly.
